The IPC64/19 MS-DOS Starter Kit comes with some cables and other parts. Before using the IPC64/19 MS-DOS Starter Kit, it is necessary to connect the following cables to the BB2 Base Board and the CP/486DX1 Single Board Computer (SBC). Please note: Before installing the cables, touch a metal case (i.e. the metal case of your desktop computer) with your hand to reduce any static electricity that might have build up while handling the IPC64/19.

Power is brought into the IPC64/19 through a 7-pin power connector on the BB2 Base Board. Please connect the starter kit power cable to the 7- pin power connector of the BB2 Base Board. For using a external PC keyboard together with the IPC64/19, the BB2 Base Board offers a 5- pin keyboard connector. Please connect the starter kit keyboard interface (I/F) cable with this connector. The keyboard I/F cable and the power cable are very similar. Please note the differences. The power cable offers a 7- pin female DIN connector on one end, the keyboard I/F cable only a 5- pin female DIN Connector. In addition to the power and keyboard I/F cable, the IPC64/19 MS-DOS Starter Kit offers a cable with a RESET switch on one end. Connect this cable to the 2- pin RESET connector of the BB2 Base Board.
The IPC64/19 MS-DOS Starter Kit comes with three cables for the CP/486DX1 PC/104 single board computer (SBC). One 26- pin ribbon cable is for the CP/486DX1 LPT port. The parallel signals of the CP/486DX1 LPT port are wired to a 26- pin connector. The starter kit LPT Port I/F Cable with 25- pin female SUB-D Connector convert the 26- pin connector pinout to a standard PC LPT port pinout. Please connect this cable to the CP/486DX1 LPT port.
The two 10-pin ribbon cables of the IPC64/19 MS-DOS Starter Kit are for the CP/486DX1 COM ports COM1 and COM2. The COM port signals of the CP/486DX1 are wired to two 10- pin connectors. The starter COM Port I/F Cables with the 9- pin male SUB-D Connectors convert the 10- pin connector pinout to a standard PC COM port pinout.
