CP/386LN REMOTE CONSOLE MODE
The CP/386LN is a real embedded PC. For stand alone operation, the CP/386LN do not need a VGA module and an external PC/AT keyboard. The CP/386LN BIOS contains a special mode, the REMOTE CONSOLE MODE (RCM). With this feature, you can use a desktop PC with a terminal emulation software for operate the CP/386LN in a case of diagnostic, service or configuration. The REMOTE CONSOLE MODE is enabled if the jumper JP1-REMOTE CONSOLE MODE is installed. For using the CP/386LN together with a VGA controller, please remove the jumper JP1. Please note: The CP/386LN BIOS checks the jumper JP1 only in the power up or hardware reset sequence.

If you are using the RCM, please setup your PC terminal emulation software to 19,200 bps, 8 data bits, no parity bit and 1 stop bit (LINK PARAMETER). In the REMOTE CONSOLE MODE you can enter DOS commands for the CP/386LN operating system over the desktop PC keyboard. The output is going to the desktop PC VGA monitor. The CP/386LN BIOS is routing the BIOS interrupts Int. 10h (video) and Int. 16h (keyboard) to the COM2 port.
