BB2TD PC/104 TOUCH PANEL PC
The TOUCH PANEL PC (TPPC) BB2TD is a industrial PC base with a 8 * 8 digital touch panel matrix for front panel mounting. The BB2TD provides a powerful platform to build low cost, high performance, real- time solutions. Together with a PC/104 CPU/SBC it is fully functional for industrial applications and will run without disks and keyboard. It is well suited for industrial applications such as, automated industrial equipment, medical instrumentation, transportation, manufacturing, communication, test and measurement on the factory floor.

The BB2TD TOUCH PANEL PC consists of two major components: The 6.5" VGA TFT LCD with the 8 * 8 digital touch panel matrix and the BB2 Base Board. The front of the BB2TD TOUCH PANEL PC is the digital touch panel matrix and the COLOR VGA TFT LCD with 640 * 480 dots in graphic mode and 25 lines * 80 charīs in standard text mode. The BB2 Base Board is back side mounted to the COLOR VGA TFT LCD. The BB2 Base Board offers an onboard VGA controller, VGA BIOS, 512 Kbyte VRAM, LCD power supply, touch panel scanner for the 8 * 8 digital touch panel matrix and a 8- bit or 16- bit PC/104 interface with connector.

The BB2 Base Board contains a flat panel VGA controller with 512 Kbyte onboard video RAM, the VGA BIOS, a VGA TFT LCD power supply, one touch panel scanner for the 8 * 8 digital touch panel matrix and for a external keyboard and one 8- or 16- bit, non- stackthrough PC/104 interface and connector. The BB2 Base Board VGA controller supports simultaneous use of the COLOR VGA TFT LCD and one external analog CRT monitor.

The BB2 Base Board VGA controller is fully compatible with the VGA graphics standard at the register, gate and BIOS levels. The VGA controller provides full backwards compatibility with the EGA, CGA, MDA and Hercules graphics standards. Mode initialization is supported at the BIOS and register levels, ensuring compatibility with application software. The VGA controller offers hardware cursor improving Windows performance. The VGA controller and other BB2 Base Board logic properly sequences the power with respect to the control and data signals to prevent damage to the COLOR VGA TFT LCD.

The BB2TD TOUCH PANEL PC is designed to be, together with a PC/104 CPU or SBC architecturally compatible with the standard PC/XT (with PC/XT PC/104 CPU) or PC/AT (with PC/AT PC/104 CPU) architecture. As such, it will run either Microsoft MS-DOS or Microsoft Windows (see also BB2TD WINDOWS PROGRAMMING). The BB2TD will also support other operating systems and real time executives that require the standard PC hardware environment.
